Welcome to CORE 4, the Whitnall School District's dynamic 4-year-old kindergarten program! CORE 4, which stands for Collaborating On Readiness Education, is a public charter school offering an enriching early learning experience to our youngest learners. With classes conveniently located at Edgerton Elementary and Hales Corners Elementary Schools, CORE 4 provides a safe and supportive environment where children thrive.
We are excited to offer two sections at Edgerton Elementary—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—and four sections at Hales Corners Elementary, with two in the morning and two in the afternoon.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire an emerging sense of independence, cultivate an excitement for learning, and foster confidence in school routines that prepare children for a bright future.
Through play, exploration, and discovery, children in CORE 4 engage in hands-on activities that spark creativity, curiosity, and joy. Guided by caring educators, every child is encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, and academically, setting a strong foundation for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Join the CORE 4 family and give your child the gift of a vibrant start to their educational journey!

Curriculum
Our CORE 4 curriculum is designed to be an exciting journey of exploration, creativity, and discovery! Designed specifically for four-year-olds, our curriculum provides a dynamic and integrated approach that blends the essential skills children need to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
At the heart of our curriculum is the understanding that young learners thrive when they are engaged in hands-on activities that spark their curiosity. We’ve carefully crafted each lesson and experience to align with the natural interests and developmental stages of young children, ensuring that they are both motivated and challenged as they explore the world around them.
Key Features of Our Curriculum:
- Exploratory Learning: Children learn by doing—whether it’s through dramatic play, sensory exploration, or hands-on projects, our curriculum encourages children to ask questions, experiment, and problem-solve in a fun, engaging way.
- Literacy with World of Wonders: This theme-based program fosters early reading and writing skills through captivating stories, activities, and exploration. As children delve into new topics, they develop a love for language and literacy.
- Math with Bridges: Beginning math concepts such as counting, shapes, patterns, and measurement are woven into interactive lessons that help young learners build a strong foundation in math.
- Assessment with FastBridge: Our curriculum includes regular assessments in literacy and math, providing valuable insights into each child's progress. These results are used to guide personalized instruction, ensuring every child’s unique learning needs are met.
- Additional Enriching Experiences: In addition to core subjects, our curriculum includes centers, dramatic play, sensory activities, cooking, outdoor exploration, and even the use of technology to further expand learning opportunities.
- With a focus on exploration, creativity, and joy, our curriculum is designed to help children develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
