The instructional program at the elementary level which includes kindergarten through grade five is designed to foster individual student growth, both academically and socially. It is characterized by a balanced and developmental literacy approach to reading and writing, a product and process based mathematics, inquiry science and social studies. Technology is used as a tool integrated throughout all areas. Other programming within the elementary level includes a Charter 4K (kindergarten), inclusive special education, art, music, physical education, support for English as a Second Language, instrumental music at the 4th and 5th grades, gifted/talented, and several after school options. Our elementary schools have a strong student intervention program to help struggling students achieve academic success. All students are encouraged to work to their maximum potential with an overall objective of continuous progress through developmentally appropriate practices.
