Child Labor Law Update:
In 2017 Wisconsin Act 11 was signed by Governor Walker on June 21, 2017. The effective date of this law is June 23, 2017. The law removes the requirement that 16 and 17 year old minors obtain work permits.
Obtain a work permit (Parent/Guardian)
Effective 7/1/2023 schools no longer issue work permits. Parents and guardians may obtain a work permit by following the instructions below with this link. Note that parents and guardians are required to pay the work permit application fee at the time of purchase. After the payment has processed the parent or guardian will receive an email confirmation and the permit will be printed and mailed directly to the employer.

- Enter Information about the minor applying for the work permit and their:
- Pay for minor's work permit:
- Credit or debit (not currently available on Apple devices)
- Checking or savings account
